And then there was the time that one of my students turned in a really fucking racist paper proposal despite the fact that everything we’ve been discussing in class has to do with the artificiality of social categories and I’m meeting with him to discuss it tomorrow and I have no idea how to explain that this assignment makes him sound like a complete bigot.
